Corsair M65 Pro RGB has lots of features, as long as you are right handed, palm grip, FPS gamer. If has an insanely precise sensor, sufficient of customization choices and perfectly solid quality. It optimizes a hardcore play with tactile high-mass scrolling wheel, dedicated sniper button, 8 easily programmable buttons, top-grade Omron switches, and a solid aluminum base for precise balanced and professional feel.

Corsair is popular for having vast product line including gaming headsets, PC cases, and cooling products, gaming keyboards and the like. Its mice line is very small. Most notable thing about its mice line is that it has only one high-end mouse for FPS gamers, known as Corsair M65 Pro RGB and it is built for some particular gamers: Right Handed FPS gamers who uses palm grip. With its staid look, it doesn’t make obvious bid for users’ attention, however it’s another attractive piece of gig and a very good deal below $50.

Design and Ergonomics

It features an aluminum uni-body frame which company proudly market as aircraft-grade. I am unsure there are planes that feature same aluminum type, however I can say this mouse’s build quality is best. It has pleasing rigidity and heft, with weight 135 g when you employ 3 optional weights you secure its bottom panel and can remove them easily by screwdriver or coin. With all 3 screw and weight removed, mouse weight drops to 115 g. This high level of weight customization is best and mouse feels very hefty when completely loaded.

It features a soft plastic coating on top which comprises of left and right click buttons and palm rest. Sides are textured grip made of rubber for you ring, thumb and pinky finger, however right hand side has no ledge or even beginnings of ledge on which pinky finger might rest. On bottom it features 5 large gliding pads. Movements of mouse are smooth. It is a right handed mouse, however it is also a palm grip only because of its low and long design and you cannot adjust height of palm rest.

Mouse Buttons

It features altogether 8 programmable button
2 left/right click button
1 scroll wheel
2 DPI adjustment buttons
3 thumb buttons
Below back and forward thumb button is sniper button that lowers DPI setting when it is held down.

Software

Its software is known as CUE or Corsair Utility Engine. It works across all the products under Corsair Company, therefore it is completely featured and has lots of options. Possibly most important setting to tweak is DPI range which you can cycle during gaming. You can have option of 5 different DPI settings from 800 to 9000 DPI that is pretty usual, however Corsair also enable you further, from lowest 100 DPI up to highest 12,000 DPI range. On adjusting DPI, light between up/down button changes its colors to allow you know which setting is selected and which one is useful.

Through this software you can also change mouse’s RGB color. Along with the color coded light between DPI buttons, this mouse features 2 other customizable lighting options, its logo on mouse heel and area below scrolling wheel. You can set lighting effect and color for every zone.

Sensitivity, DPI Settings & Polling Rate

The Corsair M65 Pro RGB offers extreme sensitivity, even in crowd of high sensitive mice, and it features 12,000 DPI optical sensor as well as surface tuning capabilities to give an extreme precision.

Through CUE you can also set DPI through separate slider for sniper button to get lower DPI to 100 by zooming in with your sniper, and then it return to 8000 as soon as you release it. It also allow you to calibrate mouse for surface despite of whether it is a glass, wooden surface or a proper mouse pad. Through this software you can click and drag any icon for around 5 seconds in order to complete the calibration, therefore it is a quick affair.

Its polling rate can also be adjusted. This is a semi-common feature in any gaming mouse which is designed to make mouse movement smoother. This mouse is set to a rate of 1000 Hz or 1ms response time however you can also lower it to 500 Hz or 2 ms, 250 Hz or 4 ms and 125 Hz or 8 ms if you prefer less twitchy one. Mouse also has onboard memory to help you store profile setting to take them with you.

Gaming

On testing, it proved to be smooth, responsive and accurate. Placement of buttons were comfortable, and for FPS fans there is a dedicated sniper button which features its very own DPI setting. Buttons also offer excellent springy and travel response, and they are quite on clicking. Rubber textured scrolling wheel was also a pleasing experience.

This mouse was stellar through the gaming arena, from RTS like Civ V to FPS like Counter Strike and Quake. Its softer touch plastic material never appeared to lose its grip even when you hand is sweaty, and grippy, curved sides feel like your mouse is in complete control. Thumb buttons are also positioned in right spots and you can reach them without repositioning and straining your grip.

PROS

  • Excellent optical sensor
  • Best build quality with Aircraft-Grade aluminum
  • A dedicated sniper button
  • Good weight adjustment
  • CUE software which is extremely flexible for both gaming enthusiasts and beginners alike
  • 2 colors

CONS

  • No case for unused weights
  • Side panel corner can bother few users

Bottom Line

Corsair M65 Pro RGB FPS right handed gaming mouse can optimize the hardcore gaming with tactile high mass scrolling wheel. With 8 programmable button and a dedicated sniper button, you can compete any FPS game. Its price is less than $60, however as per the culture of PC hardware selling online you can nab more discount buying Corsair M65 Pro RGB FPS right handed gaming mouse on Amazon.

Corsair gaming mice are fine…. For 6 weeks before its scroll wheel broken. Then you need your color co-ordinate mouse and keyboard which fucks up each month and you need to reload that firmware. You do not coz you are sick of this shit, so carry on with dull colorless keyboards thinking the hell of its price of £140.
